Dear Hockey Players,
I am excited to announce we are offering an unique opportunity to enter win the 4th "Jon Whitacre Scholarship" for Camp scholarships: Value: $500
Jon Whitacre was a former student of mine who tragically died in a plane crash 4 years ago at the young age of 28. He was in the process of completing his dream of becoming a pilot when tragedy struck. Jon was a former Miami of Ohio Ice Hockey player and part of the NCAA runner up team. He had a passion for the game of hockey, was an avid outdoor lover, met every challenge that he met, and the word "can't" didn't enter his vocabulary. He brought a great energy to those around him and touched everyone he met. It is in his honor that we are offering this opportunity in conjunction with his father Bob Whitacre for the 4th straight year.
How to enter to be considered for the scholarship:
- The prospective hockey player must enter a one page essay, no more than 250 words.

We are looking for people who represents what Jon stood for
Last year 5 scholarships were given out to people who submitted essays that represented Jon and what he stood for.

Winner will be announced: June 30
The previous winners would have made Jon proud! We are certain the next winner's will do the same.
